Your Favorites: The Zhush

Today we have a very special visitor, Sue from The Zhush! Not only does Sue have a beautiful blog with tons of eye candy, she has an incredible online shop! I suggest you check out both right away, if you haven't already.

If you've been to Sue's blog before you might know that her incredible home was recently published in Cottages and Gardens. I am in complete awe of every single nook of her entire house. It is absolutely stunning. So today, Sue shares with us her favorites... (I don't know how she could ever choose).

To see the rest of Sue's beautiful home go here.

Hi there! Sue from The Zhush here, thrilled to be sharing some of my "favorites" today!  This is tricky for me, I tend to be a bit decor and design fickle....but I will try to narrow things down a bit.

If I had to choose to a favorite room in my house, it would be my little office.  All decked out in my favorite colors of pale lavender and green...it's really small, but really "me".  Which is a good thing, since lately I'm spending more and more time here in my little nook!

The next one is even harder for me...a favorite textile, hmmmm....this changes almost daily for me, but right now I am loving the Ikat pattern and colors on these throw pillows that we have in our living room.  Wherever and whenever I spy Ikat lately, it just makes me happy!

Picking a favorite piece of art is even more of a challenge!  It's like asking me to pick a favorite child! :)  But, if I absolutely had to pick just one favorite, I would choose something painted by my grandmother, who passed away when I was only 10.  A self trained artist who came into her own later in life, I have several of her paintings.  She was quite prolific and so many of her works are spread out between our large extended family.  A great reminder of my creative roots.

While I'm getting sentimental..my favorite piece of furniture is this original Eames rocking chair.  We have photos of my parents rocking me to sleep in this, as a new born in their first apartment in New York City. Now this very same chair sits in my own home.  The fact that these are so popular right now is funny to me..growing up I never even appreciated how cool this chair was!

Finally, my favorite miscellaneous item... the fun little disco ball on our fireplace mantle.  This disco ball was part of a karaoke set my kids got as a gift.  I found it tossed aside in the basement playroom one day, propped it up on my fireplace mantle and having been loving it there ever since.  It catches the sunlight in the most spectacular way and bounces it all over the room.  My kids don't seem to miss it at all, as it doesn't play into their own idea of "American Idol" and when people come over, I tell them the ball is my trophy from "Dancing With The Stars!".

Thanks for having me over here today! I had so much fun thinking about all my favorites!
xx,
Sue
