A new look

Recently, I was looking through Luxe Magazine and came across this home in Chicago. It is not something I would typically be drawn to, but I found myself loving the images. The colors. The details. I couldn't take my eyes off of it all.

So what do you think? Too traditional and formal for your taste? Or perfect eye candy?

  1. My sister-in-law (the one that lives in Chicago) works for a real estate company that has something to do with this magazine... I really don't understand how it all works. All I know is that I get this magazine in the mail for free because of her!! :) Love this interior!!!!

I hope you have a great weekend!

  2. Don't kill me ... but a bit too traditional for me. However I could do some heavy reading in that library!

  7. The first image and the bedroom are stunning! I am not a huge fan or dark wood rooms but the whole place is formal in such a cool way!

  8. How fabulous is that blue velvet sofa? Sigh!

It's a little formal for me. I would need to take some elements away and add in a few modern touches. But it is such a lovely home.

  9. This is an absolutely gorgeous home, but I agree with some of the others that it's a bit too formal for me! I just can't picture myself lounging in my pjs here. I will say, however, that the first picture of the foyer is right up my alley. I love everything about it.

  13. I definitely love the library and the bedroom! I wouldn't decorate my own house like this (if I had a house, that is), but I definitely can appreciate how elegant it is!

  18. I agree, not something I would normally be drawn to but there is something about it. It's very formal/traditional but I think the use of color and a tiny bit of whimsy draws me in. Thanks for sharing.

  19. It's not my taste, but I think there is something inspirational to be found in all types of design and decor, no matter what your personal preferences are. I love the use of color and something about the entry and living room feels very "collected" even though its extremely formal. Interesting choice, thanks for sharing :)
