You know how there are rooms that might be easier for you to put together than others? Bedrooms were always that room for me... until I tried to do my own.
I finished it pretty quickly upon moving into our apartment. Probably the first room that really felt done. But within a year I didn't like it. Too boring. Too old. Just not me. So I changed it up. Super girly. Too girly. Then again. Serious decorating ADD.
Here's the problem, all along what I've wanted to do is wallpaper it in something I love and have white bedding. But its hard to rationalize wallpaper in a place that you don't know how long you're going to be there for. Hence, the obsessive redecorating.
I thought I would show you each of the 3 stages, its such a perfect example of how pillows and art can completely transform a space.

Which stage was your favorite?
Everything is feeling very beige to me. So we'll see if my roomie approves of making some changes. Will of course, keep you updated.

I love stage 3! So clean and pretty. The pillows on the bed are a perfect touch.

Definitely 2 or 3. Stage 1 doesn't really seem like you- well what I know from your blog! :) I'm in the process of moving and what to do in my room is a big debate! What if you did a colored blanket of some sort all the way up and then didn't put the white duvet/comforter all the way so a bit more color peeked out?
ReplyDeleteI love both 2 and 3! So pretty. I love white and clean looking :)
ReplyDeleteThe third has such vibrant summery colors - I love those pillows. Thank you for sharing each stage with us.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to choose between 2 and 3! I love the gold details and pop from the pillows.
ReplyDeleteI choose 2 and 3! Love the clean look.....would die to have the bench at the end of the bed in pic 2. It's my fav!
ReplyDeleteTorn between 2 and 3. Both excellent!
ReplyDeleteI know this isn't helpful at all, but I love them all for different reasons! I think if I had to choose it would be 2-- love the bench at the end of the bed, and the smaller white nightstands make the room feel less cluttered and more spacious (as opposed to the larger dark ones in the first). Love your taste though!
ReplyDeleteI think 3 is the most "you".
ReplyDeleteI love 3 the best. You are right about the pillows. They definitely can make such a difference.
ReplyDeleteI love stage 2. So pretty!
ReplyDeletewhite bedding is where it is at! I kick myself for allowing the HUbs to sway me into buying a fun yellow coverlet last year....I want it in white SO BAD!!!!!! Is the wall color the same in both images? the #3 looks darker, but could have been the day. I personally like it all - but maybe you need a more clean line, vs the frilly shams? jsut throwing it out there, maybe that will change how you see it? I always have decorating ADD!!!
ReplyDeleteStage 3!
ReplyDeleteAll three are absolutely beautiful, but I'm leaning towards stage 2!
ReplyDeleteLove the bench in 3! Your nightstands are to die for! You know I want all white bedding but I do really like the pop of color in 3.
ReplyDeleteI'm this way with my living room. I threw it together for the shoot but I'm still not happy with it!
The second and third are my favorites!
ReplyDeletestage 2 is my fave because it's so light and airy and i love how delicate the bench is! xo
ReplyDeleteYour dog is edible!
ReplyDeleteAnd can't decide which pillows I love more :)
ReplyDeleteStage 2 is my favourite!
ReplyDeleteI find it impossible to decorate for myself, I can never make a final decision on anything...

I'm torn between stage 2 and stage 3 but I'm a serious fan of neutrals. Love your splashes of pink too, lucky you got that approved by your "roomie"!
ReplyDeleteI think I like a mix of stage 2 & 3- the pillows from 2 with the bench from 3.
ReplyDeleteI looove stage two, personally. Would love to see the bench from 3 in there to see if that helps ground things/balance out some of the girliness? looks gorg, either way!
ReplyDeleteI love them all :) I think a mix of 2 and 3 are my favorite! Can't wait to see your face!

I think I like the first one the best...but the third one is also so pretty. I really need a bedroom overhaul too...it'll be the first thing I do after the wedding.
ReplyDeleteLoving stage 2 and 3 both! The pillows are fab! Great evolution!
ReplyDeleteI love two and three. Two because I am partial to feathers but three is pretty perfect!! xoxo Elizabeth
ReplyDeleteDefinitely two and three...they both look so pretty and cozy. Love the bright ikat pillows...maybe add in another pop of color so it feels less beige...maybe art over the bed instead of a mirror ?

GASP!!!!!!!!! this is stunning Alex! I think I like stage 2 the best... :)
ReplyDeleteI love 3 - it feels on trend and cute for a young couple! :)

ReplyDeleteI think i love a combo of 2and 3.. i love the bench in 2 and the way you made the bed but I do really love the pillows in 3.. so hard!
ReplyDeleteI agree, combo of two and three. I LOVE the pillows from #3 but with the bench from #2. Girl, this is soooo helpful! I just wish I could pull off white linens. I don't know how to bleach so I'm pretty sure they're out!
ReplyDeleteOhhh I love the evolution and I can completely see your mindset through the pics. My fav is #3, but fav photo, that would be #1 bc it features a special furry guest. x
ReplyDeletemaybe lilac or lavender walls will add a little color to the mix and would look great with the pink ikat pillows
ReplyDeleteI love the bench in #2! and how light and airy the room feels. i'm dying for wallpaper as well but rentals are so prohibitive, boo.
ReplyDeleteI am kinda obsessing about the bench in #2!! Beautiful! The pillows in #3 are really great too!
ReplyDeletethis is the same for me, Alex!! It's technically done, but our bedroom is the one I think about being "not done" most. I love #2 the most. Maybe you could put the Ikat pillows behind the two standard sized, and then the little fluffy pink one in front if you wanted to change it up! The colors are amazing!
ReplyDeleteThere's something about all 3 that I really like! I think my favorite is stage 2. Glad I stumbled across your blog!
ReplyDeleteWould love the follow back:) Enter my giveaway for a Nordstrom and Starbucks gift card!

My pick is stage 2! Love the touch of girl ~
ReplyDeleteNot much help... I love 2 and 3! And I can totally relate to the ADD in my own home.
ReplyDeleteI am a big fan of #2...mostly because I really love those pillows and that bench! I'm so strange about details, the funniest things get my interest! (c: Of course, I would gladly live in all THREE...
ReplyDeleteI love stage 2 and 3 but my favorite is #2!
ReplyDeleteOh my I can't decide...I love stage 3, but I like the bench in stage 2 better?! If it were me, I'd swap them, then stick with stage 3! Either way though, great job all around! x
ReplyDeleteLove this! I'm currently working on redoing/ redecorating my kids beds and love all the creative ideas out there.
ReplyDeleteYou know I love everything you do- a huge fan of #2 and #3- wouldn't think it possible but I adore both benches like mad...the mint velvet though- pure heaven!
ReplyDeleteStage 3 - like the colorful pillows in a mostly neutral room.
ReplyDelete#2 or 3 for me! I love the color and the little textures pillow!
ReplyDeleteI'm in love with your bed frame! Stage 2 is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteI love the feathery pillow in #2! Where is it from?
ReplyDeleteI love the pillows in the last stage, they make it my favorite!
ReplyDeletestage 1. the brown adds some masculinity. the other 2 are way too feminine/girly to be shared with a man. a couple's home should reflect BOTH people and should have too much of either masculine OR feminine accents.
ReplyDeleteCompletely obsessed with the ruffle bedding. Where did you find it?? And Stage 2 is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteWhere is your bed from? love it!
ReplyDeleteawesome evolution of bedroom information. improved points can easily be achieved through the tips that are written in the article. I am impressed with the quality of the content.
DeleteThe evolotion of bedroom is shown on the post here
ReplyDeleteStage 2 is my favorite, but I really love them all.
