Wedding Wednesday

Today is exactly one month until my wedding. Crazy huh??!? Are you sick of me counting down yet? Sorry, its not going to stop. Wedding planning is all consuming, so Wedding Wednesdays are my day to chat about it!

So today... let's chat about pre-wedding regimens. Skin. Weight. All of it.

Here is what I am already doing for my skin
- face mask a couple times a week
- getting a bit of sun so I am just a little bronzed
- going in for a micro dermabrasion sometime next week

via

Is it too much to have her skin? Any other recommendations?

And weight... well thats a tough one. I am soooo not an eating healthy, exercising kind of human. I am replacing pasta with quinoa and attempting to spin a couple times a week. Any quick fixes that make the pounds fall off? I am all ears!

I'd like to have a tum like that. So sharing is caring. I'd love to hear any pre-wedding recommendations.

  2. The weight was a biggie for me too since I'm not into dieting. I go to the gym and run a lot, but rarely use weights. Sooo I decided to cut ALL carbs for a month before the wedding and lost the extra 3lbs I wanted to lose :) It's super tough so I allowed carbs into two meals over the wknd without overdoing it. You will be a beautiful bride! xx

  3. I say just enjoy these last four weeks with celebration after celebration :) A blemish and an extra lb won't matter in the end. :)

  4. Oh my, one month, how exciting! Maybe cut carbs (not 100%, just back?) but ENJOY yourself!

  5. I'm just over two months away from mine, so I can totally understand feeling like best intentions have gone out the window. But I am going to do another juice fast (juicing fruits and veggies only) for a week, probably a week or two before the wedding. It does help shed pounds, but I did it for the energy and glowing skin. It is not for the faint of heart, so definitely don't do it when you're going to have to make decisions and put on a happy face. Enjoy this sweet season and try not to worry too much. You're going to be absolutely gorgeous, first and foremost in the eyes of your hubby-to-be.

  6. I would like to have a tum like that. I mean...the master cleanse is a option...albeit not the healthiest?

  7. Ahhh 1 month...can't believe it is so soon!! I agree with Chassity but I know how you feel! I saw keep with trying to eat healthier and less!! When I am trying to get rid of a few extra pounds I always only eat 1/2 of what is on my plate...a great way to cut out some extra calories! And eat slower...you will fill up so much faster! Either way you are going to be absolutely gorgeous!

  9. I also did facials and micro dermabrasions. I really wanted to be the most in shape bride, but I was a slacker. I didn't want to look overly skinny anyways. I wish my arms had been a little more toned though! I CANNOT believe you have one month to goooooo!!!!!!! xoxo

  11. ahh so excited for you!! for skin, i used a face cream with retinol (to brighten and exfoliate) and a body scrub to exfoliate 2x a week. i also bought a little shimmer cream for my arms to use the day of. for weight, i was super disciplined the month before but that is about the max number of weeks i can be strict like that. weekdays, i did steel cut oatmeal for bfast, sweet potato for lunch (with carrots or edamame or another veggie as a side) and dinner was lean meat with quinoa or wilted spinach. and then i cheated on the weekends. also, jillian michaels was my go-to for workouts, email me if interested and i'll tell you my fave ones, some are only 20 mins. but either way cardio plus weights is the quickest way to tone up quickly :)

  12. So exciting! My dietitian input for the wedding diet: Do not starve yourself. It's the last thing your emotions need this close to the wedding! Have whole grains to fuel the body but allow it to use all the B vitamins for a rockin metabolism. Skip the sodas and sparkling drinks which can cause bloat- try water with herbs or lemon instead. Lastly, aim to really get in 5 fruits and veggies a day. They will fill you up and really help with complexion. Spinach is great for blood flow to the skin and peppers/kiwi/citrus is a great cellular foundation with vitamin C.

  13. Right there with ya, sister! As soon as I got engaged I was all, "wait, no more frozen yogurt?" Actually right before I got engaged I went on the Dukan Diet (the diet Kate Middleton did for her modest wedding) and I lost 6 pounds in 4 days. True life. The first few days of the diet is all protein and fat free no sugar added dairy (yes, that means no sugar added fat free froyo!). That's the part where you'll see the pounds slip off. Then the second part you can add in veggies. I really had so much energy and felt great! I'll be starting it up again next week...

I'm really trying to concentrate on my arms, shoulders, and back in terms of toning since everything else will really be covered...and since there are lovely underpinnings that will take care of the sucking in for me.

Check out tan towels! They really are great and get you sun kissed just enough. I'm also going to start on the microdermabrasion kick. Please post about it and see what you think!

So excited for you! One month away, my goodness! You'll make a stunning bride. Shoot me an email if you want more deets on Dukan if you still have my email address. I have a whole list of ideas for recipes.

HAPPY HAPPY and you'll be gorgeous no matter WHAT!

  14. Cut out salt and sparkling water / soda 1 week before the wedding. It'll help with bloating.

Not sick of wedding talk at all! Congrats! And can't wait 'til we get to see the big day too! I'm sure you'll look gorgeous!

  17. AHHHH ONE MONTH! Amazing and so exciting! I am just getting into a good skin routine. I would definitely make sure you're drinking enough water as well-that always helps! In terms of food, well it's just delicious so keep indulging every once in awhile. I would cut out soda and add more weights to your workouts. You're going to look stunning regardless of any of this! xo

  18. You're going to look absolutely stunning my dear- so excited for you:) As for tips...water for the skin and if you cut out sugar, you'll loose like 5 pounds instantly- no milk, yoghurt or any hidden sugar at all- it's a quick loose miracle.

  20. Less than one month before my wedding I went in for that dreaded final fitting. My dress was too tight. I had 30 days to drop about 5 pounds. I couldn't do a crash diet because I didn't want to feel crummy on my dig day. So - I drank nothing but water (cutting out wine and coffee was NOT easy!) and added a ton of fruit to my diet - berries with my AM oatmeal, mid-morning banana, afternoon apple. Kept my lunch super simple (progresso light soup most days) and no carbs at all for dinner...no pasta, potatoes, nothing. Mostly veggies and fish. I dropped all the water weight quick and felt great. The place I noticed it the most was my tummy, which was great for my form fitting dress. It's worth a try!

  21. I very highly recommend purchasing a Clarisonic. I purchased one before my wedding and I used it everyday. I makes your skin so much smoother and cleaner.

The other thing I did is a week before the wedding I went on a Raw Food Diet. I only ate raw food, it wasn't too difficult but it makes your skin brighter and I lost 4 pounds in 3 days.

  22. I just found your blog! My twin brother was kind enough to mark all the food I couldn't eat a month before my wedding. But I love the Nike Training Club App because they have a ton of hard workouts you can squeeze in even when you are super busy with planning! It tones you up and burns calories like crazy!
